Amazon donates S$100,000 to local NPOs, Delivering Smiles to children in Singapore - Nov 2022
“Amazon's increase in support for the local community comes as Singapore aims to create a vibrant philanthropic ecosystem and become a hub in Asia . With the wishlist initiative, Amazon continues to work closely with local non-profit organizations to understand the evolving needs of the underprivileged in the community and channel resources to uplift and nurture them, especially children. In addition, the initiative serves to raise awareness and encourage the public to give to meaningful causes regularly and offers a platform for donating transparently.
Amazon's donation, coupled with donations from the public through the NPOs' wishlists, will benefit more than 25,000 children in Singapore, aged between three and 21 years, increasing their access to better and more enrichment activities, meals, and medical care, among helping with other needs.”
McCann Worldgroup Singapore Launches MW for Good - Nov 2022
True to their mission of earning a meaningful role in people’s lives, McCann Worldgroup Singapore recently launched MW for Good— a volunteer initiative that allows McCanners to make an impact through causes they care about, such as, providing positive experiences and social interaction opportunities to vulnerable segments in Singapore.
The concept came from McCann Worldgroup’s annual Day For Meaning, a day where the entire network pauses business, and all employees globally come together to connect and share strategies for a more inclusive workplace. The Singapore team expressed interest in ensuring opportunities to give back to their community, living the McCann Worldgroup values of Bravery, Integrity and Generosity.
The team kicked off MW For Good through a fun and exciting activity with children under the supervision of the SG Cares Kreta Ayer Volunteer Centre and Blessings in A Bag at the largest indoor skating rink in Singapore, Hi-Roller, before enjoying a meal prepared by Kampung Siglap Café, a social enterprise allocating all their proceeds to displaced individuals.

AsiaOne: 6 places to donate your preloved kids' toys in Singapore - Jun 2022
If you have children, then you're more than likely to have preloved toys (in good condition) lying around the house that your kids have outgrown and haven't touched in years.
Why not donate them to a new home and bring joy to another child that's less privileged than your own? Not only will you be decluttering your space, but you will also be bringing a smile to another child.
What condition of toys is acceptable? It should be something that you would lovingly give to a friend or to your own children.
AsiaOne: Singaporean toy photographers & Geek Culture team up for first-ever charity auction - Nov 2022
As the adage goes, do what you love and you don’t have to work a single day in your life. That’s the community we serve, and the toy photographers who have turned their passion into a career, and we’re now sharing it with you.
Earlier this year, Geek Culture conducted its very first massive giveaway to encourage the community to stay indoors.
After the Charity Auction is over, all the proceeds earned will be donated to the local award-winning non-profit organisation Blessings in a Bag, which is aimed at assisting low opportunity, under-resourced youths, as well as empowering the community to help support one another.
The award-winning charity organisation first started as a volunteer-powered community, with the goal of providing every child and their families in need of help with the essentials they need to not only survive, but thrive.
Blessings in Bag partners with social-service organisations to help serve communities in need through donations or incentivised programmes to better empower them to take charge of their lives.

“The kampung spirit category for informal groups was won by Blessings in a Bag.
It was founded by former radio DJ Emily Teng, 31, in 2007 to collect items like clothes and toys for needy children in the region.
It now runs a programme called Beyond Awesome where volunteers befriend children from poor families to empower them by giving them experiences they may not have otherwise, like visiting companies such as Facebook, or attending drama or art workshops.
Ms Teng, who now works as a marketing director, always had a heart for the underdog. Her family struggled for a few years when she was in primary school after her father lost his job. Her mother worked as a secretary to feed the family of four, including a younger sister.
Ms Teng said of the Beyond Awesome programme: "We are here to cheer them on, to listen to them and love them."
